In 1983, Timothy D. Armour started his career at Capital Group in Los Angeles, California. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Armour joined the company through the Associates Program. He was first an equity investment manager, then graduated to equity portfolio manager, one of eight members of the management committee. His position on the committee was as key deputy amongst the executives under Jim Rothenberg, the chairman of Capital at the time.

On July 28, 2015, Armour was named the chairman of the company after the death of Rothenberg. His experience in the company and his education made him the perfect fit for his new position as chairman.
